Montclair Immigrant Collaborative brings immigrant residents and local neighbors into the same conversations about everyday life in town.
Our story
Formed in Montclair, led by neighbors
The collaborative was formed so that immigrant voices and perspectives take an active seat in town life. Our work grows from relationships across neighborhoods, not from top-down intervention.
We listen first, share what we learn, and make room for families, longtime residents, and newcomers to take part together in shaping the community they share.
How we work
Principles that guide our work
Mutual accountability
We answer to the residents we serve and to one another, keeping our commitments visible and open to feedback.
Open tables
We host conversations where different stories, questions, and languages are welcome at the same table.
Respectful partnership
We work alongside neighbors, local groups, and town institutions, valuing dignity and long-term relationships.
